Tennis Ladder 2013 (update)
With the end of the regular tennis season comes the time for climbing the ladder. That’s what one of the youngsters, Francisco Taveira, has been doing. Yesterday he beat Pedro Cerquinho 7-5, 2-6 (10-5).

Men’s Singles Tournament 2013
15 players signed up for the Mens’ Singles Tournament 2013, played last weekend in a very competitive and fun mood. The winner was João Magalhães who beated Pedro Lagoá, in a reedition of last year’s final. Finally, just a word to say that all players who lost in the first round played a consolation tournament, which was won by Francisco Taveira.
Mixed Doubles Tournament
Last weekend was played the mixed doubles tournament, even though the absence of several players due to last minute injuries and other reasons… Anyway, and as usual, this was a very amusing tournament which was won by Matilde Lagoá and Luís Pinheiro Torres (Jr.) who defeated Susana and Pedro Lagoá 6-2, 6-0.

THE WINNERS
Ladder Tournament (Update)
This morning, despite a few showers of rain, Rui Carvalho and Pedro Taveira engaged in a battle for the sixth place. Pedro won the close match, but only in the super tie-break. The final score was 3-6, 6-2 (11-9).
Ladies and Men’s Doubles Tournaments
This last weekend took place both women and men’s doubles tournaments: according to the majority of opinions, it seems that everyone had a good time and some few inovations were positively commented.
Regarding the winners, Chris Walsh and Sarah Capell (ladies doubles) and Fredrik Oxelfelt and Pedro Lagoá (men’s doubles) truly deserved their respective titles – congratulations!

Today, one of our younger players, Francisco Taveira, won 6-2, 6-2 against Nick Holland, in a generation’s duel. Francisco promisses to keep climbing the ladder, so be aware!
Tennis Ladder 2013 (update)
After a tough battle, Luís Pinheiro Torres Jr. managed to win against Rui Carvalho and therefore jumped to the 5th place. We have now three members of the Pinheiro Torres family in the five first places…

2013 Tennis Calender (Updated)
It has been necessary to make a number of alterations to the 2013 events calender, notably, the men´s singles competition will now be held June 15-16th and the Mixed doubles 25-26th May.
The adult/junior tournament has been moved to May 4th and a sign up sheet is already available on the notice board.
